Mikkey Dee wears them especially for the drum solo, with all that added
reverb to make the drums sound awesome and drum solo like, it would be
easier for him to go out of time, therefore the headphones would more
thanlikley be giving him a clean feed of his drums from the mixing desk.

as opposed to him going deaf, all us drummers are deaf anyway, Snare
drum is 109 - 114 Db to the drummer...
