A lost fan?

Easy - at the time, they owned it all - now, they don't!
Normally a release of material that the label owns cannot come out unless
someone to do with the band approves it first. In this case, that was done.
If the band representative(s) refuse such a request, then the item does not
come out.
I'm not sure if a label that owns tracks can issue compilations of those
tracks without prior notification or approval from the band or their
representative - some little voice inside me tells me that they can, but
generally, don't.
