Oh, well, damn, shows what I know! :) I thought there were some
additional words in OHWA that I didn't hear last night .....

Well, then, that's at least two tracks from the new album -- OK, not
exactly on par with Iron Maiden opening their current shows with the
whole of their new album ;) but, by Hawkwind standards ....

That said, to be fair, few bands that have been going as long as HW in
any incarnation trot out lots of new material on a regular basis.
Hawkwind do have a strong back catalog -- there's an argument that they
should just come out and play the track-listing of _Epoch Eclipse_ +
whatever's new since then :) It'd be a long show, but what band
wouldn't kill to have that much good stuff to pick and choose from?

But perhaps HW just need to write more songs! :)

Now that Dave's seeming happy to be back out front with his guitar
(where he _belongs_! :) maybe they should rush right back to the farm
after the tour, lock themselves in the studio, and just jam like
bastards for a week or so. Nothing pre-programmed, just let it all hang
out. Oughta be able to get enough riffs and basic bits of songs down
that they can spend the next week re-recording the good stuff and weave
some floaty ambient stuff around it to call it an album.

I think it took just too long to get TMTYL sorted out. I mean, Arthur
Brown had been out of the band for ages before ever the studio
recordings with him saw the light! But I really like the current band
of "core trio" plus Jason. They're playing with enjoyment, energy, and
confidence and they should, IMO, transform this into some new
riff-centric recordings ASAP without trying to polish it into oblivion.

Cheers,
Carl
