Bernhard,
My friend, we just aren't going to agree, I'm afraid. People went to the gig, had a great time, really enjoyed themselves, got their money's worth and were happy. If, after that, people who didn't go are picking over the notes played and determining whether a gig was 'crap' on that basis, it isn't the way I think a gig should be understood. I'm just happy I had a fab time with nice people at a great show... I'll leave it there! :)

Good morning Ian
I really understand what you are trying to explain.
Of course I know that I was not there and I also know that the
"feeling" of
a real live experience
is not compareble to a bootleg recording of a show.
Therefore I mentioned a couple of times that I am only talking about the
"AUDIO" part of this event.
I can not judge about the light show, the peoples mood and the overall
feeling.
It is just the plain music for me I can talk about.
And this music is not the music I can enjoy.
Good musicians were on stage and played lot of great songs from my favorite
band.
They tried to play them in a different way. No problem.
But in fact this "different way" did not work.
This is not only my view.
Lot of good friends of mine from the HW lists think the same way.
I do not want to start a discussion here that could make some peole angry.
Hawkwind have played lots of crap shows over the years !!!
And I have no problem to mention this as well !!!
A real musician knows when he played a crap show.
I really hope that SR2009 will be much more rehearsed and than we all will
get a great show.
No need for a perfect show. But it has to be "listenable" without
basic
errors
All I wanted is to mention that a crap show was played. Nothing more !!!!
Regards
Bernhard

Bernhard,
Honestly, I think you've really missed the point here... a live gig is a
live gig, it's for the people who turn up and enjoy the event - which I
know
people who attended did enjoy... so that's the context of the show and it
was a fantastic event and, really, 'end of story'. Great to get a show
to
listen to afterwards but that's always out of context.
It wasn't 'crap'... it just wasn't... sorry!
You say it didn't work for you and other people... you weren't there!
It
wasn't assembled to be picked over on a bootleg, it was put on for people
to
go and get a buzz from on the day... please, context, always context! :)

Hi there !!
I believe that you and the others wanted to do the best.
I also believe that the band and the folks had lot of fun.
As I mentioned before most people on stage are great musicians and friedly
folks
But unfortunately the output was crap.
I am sorry to say this.
Have listend to the recording a couple of times and it doesn't get better.
It was indeed an unrehearsed performance.
A big party for the great ROB CALVERT.
I am sorry that it musically did not work (for me and lot of fans I know)
regards
Bernhard

ha ha ha
the only hope for this gig is if judge trev plays his tribute song
"starfighter", for bob calvert, before hawklords take the stage
because it
is bobs absence which will be the most noticeable
and surely you saw me at herne bay bernhard, didn't you feel the power
...the truth...didn't i induce a state of self-trancendence...didn't it
change your life forever
actually the herne bay line up was good, much better than usual
judge trev
