And speaking of '80s metal (I think this counts), I've just recently  
heard bits of the new Metallica album (dodgy pirate copies having  
washed all the way up the Andes more effectively than any storm surge  
anywhere could ;)) and it actually doesn't suck horribly.  I think I  
even genuinely enjoyed some of what I heard!  There may yet be some  
life in the old psychoanalysis-escapees.  At worst, I think a  
summation as "Not topping the old highlights but at least damn sight  
better than last couple of decades" would probably do it.
