It looks valid. Certainly there's nothing dangerous about sending
that command to the list server, and that is the correct email address
for the list server. Which leaves open the question why it believes
that you need to be renewed. As far as I know, the list has no
renewal policy, unless it's set for people who haven't posted in X
amount of time...
Remember the command should be in the body of the message on a line by
itself, the listserv will ignore Subject lines and other cruft...
