Ah, but, what's modern Hawkwind? The best Hawkwind I ever saw was
in 2001 (though looking back I think everything I was experiencing that
year was heightened by a variety of factors). Is that still modern? It's
not 1972 Hawkwind but then I sometimes wonder whether anyone really
knows what that was like. It sounds like 2009 Hawkwind is pulling a few
stops out, new songs, long sets and so on. But any Hawkwind is better than
no Hawkwind. When I bitch it's because something else has got in the way
of there being more of it, or else that I'm cynically expecting something
to do so. The core of this reaction is a grumpy junkie denied his fix...

Arthur Brown! Graham Coxon! Just like in 2003! Damn, sorry. What I
mean is: I'll be happier not knowing who's playing than being told
something they can't, in the end, deliver, so I can appreciate silence on
this score.
