Because of my work with Background Magazine (devoted to progressive rock), I
know of Steve Tibbets. We did a review of his self-titled album from 1977. I
don't know whether this is his first album or not.
It's only 34 minutes long, re-released on CD in 1995 by Cuneiform Records
(cat# 55009).

Maybe some info from the review will tell you whether it's his first album or
not.
1977, Tim Weinhold on percussion, music is a mix of nice acoustic guitar,
some keyboards and a lot of tape effects, nine songs, song title: 'Jungle
Rhythm', song title: 'How Do You Like My Buddah'.

The review wasn't that good, but that's a matter of taste. However, "of
average amateur hometaping level" doesn't sound veyr promising.
