OFF: Napster copyright issue - new turn

On the CNN business news (!) a couple of days ago, the interviewee was a
lawyer representing major record labels like Warner, Sony etc. in the
lawsuit against Napster. Basically, his argument was that Napster should be
shut down NOT because it represents a threat to the present market, but
because it represents a threat to the development of potential, legitimate
online market. Everyone seems to think that the record companies' motive for
the lawsuit was the first reason. They don't consider Napster a threat to
the present market at all!!!
