BOC: Burnin' (a lot) For You

CBS and Sony are pretty much the same company so licensing was probably pretty easy. That's not as high profile as CSI and The Who, they got a lot of mileage over that affiliation. But slipping BOC on the tube works for me.

Subject: BOC: Burnin' (a lot) For You
On tonight's episode of "How I Met Your Mother," "Burnin' For You", and
MOST of the song(!), has been played at least twice as background music in
scenes.
I wonder how the producers pay for the use of the song - 1 flat fee for
using it, no matter how many times it's played in a half hour? or $$ per
each occurence, which would make this a handsome payday for Sony (and
eventually Buck, Meltzer, and the band)?
